Soloy Aviation Solutions have retrofitted the Cessna 206 with an Allison turboprop engine. This example is my suggested cowling design, which has the following features:

  • Engine intake air is drawn from inside the cowl (which acts as an intake plenum)
  • A larger, better-looking spinner may be fitted to the propeller.
  • The compressor blades are protected from foreign object damage (FOD) by inertial separation of heavy particulates in the intake air.
